Cross-taping is much simpler than T-taping: pull your foreskin up as far as it will go and then tape across it with invisible tape (see the Supplies page) to hold it in place. Although it can be used as a primary restoration method, it is not very suitable as the only tension it provides is the resistance of the foreskin trying to retract and it would take a very long time to work. However, it is a good practice to do between sessions of T-taping.

Illustrated guide

Have your supplies ready. Make sure the foreskin is clean and dry. Grasp it between your fingers and pull it up as far as it will go. Take the first piece of invisible tape and tape across. Take the second and tape again, perpendicularly across the first strip. Press and rub in the tape until it turns clear to ensure it is stuck well.

The taped skin should be taut and there should be no more than a quarter of an inch of it attached to either side of the tape.

When urinating, the cross-tape should be removed. The same tape may be re-applied two or three time before it can no longer securely hold the foreskin.

Problems

If the tape does not want to stick, the foreskin is too wet. Invisible tape is not as tolerant of moisture as foam tape when attaching, but once it is attached, it holds well even when fully submerged.

When you have justed started the restoration process, you may not have enough foreskin to cover an erect penis and the cross-taping will not hold. However, once you have regrown enough, if the tape pulls off when you get an erection, you may think you need more, but you have in fact used too much. Unlike foam tape, invisible tape does not stretch and neither can the skin under it. By using as little tape as possible and attaching it only to the very end of the foreskin, the foreskin is allowed to stretch and erections will not be a problem.

After cross-taping

Eventually your foreskin will grow long enough that it can hold itself in place. When you reach that point, you can discontinue cross-taping as it will have almost no effect, or you can begin one of the following cross-taping variations:

Cross-taping with an extender

Ring-taping
